At Camera Intelligence we have a clear mission: we’re building the camera of the future. Realising this ambition requires a world-class team of engineers who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of what's possible in imaging.

From our headquarters here in London, United Kingdom, we are thrilled to announce that we have made several strategic hires in core areas of our engineering stack. These new team members bring a wealth of experience and specialised knowledge that will be instrumental in accelerating our product development.

Please join us in welcoming them!

Deepening Our Expertise in Embedded Engineering

Embedded engineering is the critical domain where hardware meets software. It covers the camera’s firmware and low-level software development, ensuring that every component works in perfect harmony to deliver a stable, reliable, and powerful device.

We are delighted to welcome Surendra Chowdary to our team. Surendra joins us with a decade of experience as a specialist in camera systems at Qualcomm, one of the world's leading technology innovators. His deep expertise will be invaluable. Working directly with our CTO, Liam, Surendra will focus on ensuring the long-term stability and peak performance of our camera system's core architecture.

Advancing Our AI-Powered Image Processing Pipeline

What makes a Camera Intelligence camera unique is our brain - the software that sees and interprets the world. We have developed our own proprietary, software-based Image Signal Processing (ISP) pipeline. This system is tuned end-to-end with sophisticated neural networks and computational photography techniques.

Our pipeline pulls raw data directly from the sensor and processes image and video data with our unique AI colour science framework. This ensures that every photo and video looks stunning straight out of the camera, with no editing required.

To lead the next wave of innovation in this area, we’ve hired Gal Schendtal. Gal recently earned his PhD in Computational Photography at Imperial College London, where his research specialised in High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging. Working alongside Ollie, Gal will be developing cutting-edge, on-camera computational photography algorithms that will empower our users to capture breathtaking images in even the most challenging lighting conditions.

Perfecting the User Experience with a Seamless Mobile App

While our camera is a powerful standalone device, your smartphone is still the primary interface for control, composition, and sharing. A world-class camera demands an equally impressive user experience.

We are excited to introduce Tom O'Rourke, an experienced mobile app developer who is joining us to lead our mobile efforts. With over 10 years of experience with iOS and a strong background in Android and web development, Tom has the versatile skill set needed to build a truly cross-platform ecosystem. His primary focus will be to make sure our mobile application is not just functional, but a beautifully designed, intuitive, and rock-solid experience for our users, no matter what device they use.

The Future is Bright

With these hires, we have significantly strengthened our team across the entire engineering stack - from the firmware deep within the camera to the algorithms that process every pixel, and all the way to the app in your hands.

Surendra, Gal, and Tom are joining a team dedicated to fundamentally changing photography for the better. We are incredibly excited about the expertise they bring to Camera Intelligence.

Are you passionate about building the future of imaging technology? We're always looking for talented individuals to join our mission. Visit our Careers Page to see our open roles.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to innovate!
