Making Anyone a professional content creator

Since the Alice Camera days we’ve had one mission, and it has survived a rebrand, a Kickstarter and two product generations: make anyone a professional content creator. I want to be precise about what that means, because it’s an easy sentence to say and a hard one to build.

Professional, in that sentence, describes the result. The picture on your feed matches the one in your head, reliably, on a Tuesday afternoon with your phone in one hand, without you learning a trade first. The camera, the software and the hours in between are our problem to remove.

Who we mean by anyone

Three people, mostly. The solo creator who has hit the ceiling of phone photos and closed the Sony tab twice because the workflow scared them off. The small business owner who knows a £500-a-day photographer would pay for itself but can’t book one every week. And the person who loves the ritual of a real camera — the click, the glass — and hates the hours afterwards. They can all afford a camera. What stops them is the SD-card-to-Lightroom-to-export tax.

How we’re doing it

Caira is a new generation camera that combines a Micro Four Thirds interchangeable lens mirrorless system with a powerful LLM-driven intelligence that acts as your creative partner. In practice that is three things you can use today: Voice Control instead of menus, Smart Styles so photos come off the camera already graded, and Generative Editing so “change the blazer to burgundy” is a sentence rather than a Photoshop session. Since this was first written we’ve added a fourth, Generative Video Editing, which does for footage what Generative Editing did for photos: relight, reframe and extend a clip you already shot, from the same app.

You press the button, Caira does the rest. That line has been on our homepage since the beginning, and it is also the specification.

What we won’t do to get there

We won’t put a generative model between you and the scene on the camera itself. The on-camera pipeline is non-generative and predictable, and every generative edit is an optional, separate file you asked for, watermarked with Google’s SynthID. Your footage is never used for training. The job is removing the pipeline. The picture stays yours.
